Pat Robertson is a worthless sack of monkey vomit

The Secret, Christianity, really: What's the difference? Secretards say that if you suffer you bring it on yourself, Christians say if you suffer it is God's punishment or it is because you turned your back on God. Is there any difference? Witness Pat Robertson, a pathetic excuse for a human being, blame the suffering in Haiti not on the impersonal and uncaring vagaries of nature but on the Haitians themselves.

Of course, he apparently claims he's been taken out of context but that seems pretty clear to anyone who isn't an addled brained religiot with the empathy of a rock and the intelligence to match. Haitians made a pact with the devil ergo deserved an earthquake. True story. Apparently. Of course, it isn't true unless you fail at history and cultural understanding. It isn't true unless you are a worthless sack of donkey crap like Pat Robertson, who likes to use the deaths (estimated at between 45,000 and 50,000 so far, not that you care Patty) of people killed in natural disasters to promote his particular brand of supernatural nonsense.

Religion based on fear? Nonsense. By the way, worship my god and send me money or my god will sic an earthquake on your ass and you'll deserve it. But look how pious I am. I'm just trying to help.

Pat Robertson = human being fail.

Prove you are a better human than Pat Robertson, go donate.

EDITED TO ADD:

OK, had to run an errand before I could finish earlier.

Not only is Robertson a joke of a man, he's also apparently not that good of a Christian. If he was, he would have remembered a couple of things:

  1. "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Matt 7:1-2
  2. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' Matt 22:39
Where do Robertson's comments fit in here, exactly? How much has Robertson personally donated from his vast wealth? Did he forget about that whole eye of the needle thing? How about the good Samaritan thing? Did the Samaritan preach about how the man deserved what had happened to him, or did he just help?

And then we have the strange notion that Robertson and his god apparently believe that modern day Haitians deserve to be punished for something that Robertson and God believe happened (even though it didn't) over 200 years ago. So, present day Haitians are being punished for something they had no control over and nothing to do with. That's a charming message, don't you think? How long ago did the USA stop ethnically cleansing the native population of North America, Patty? I guess judgement will be coming soon enough.

Here's the really baffling thing for Robertson's world view though, the CIA World Factbook reports that 96% of the Haitian population is Christian - apparently God doesn't mind punishing his followers for something they never did 200 years ago.

Pat Robertson, hurry up and die. And while you're at it, take Limbaugh with you.

  1. There was a great rebuttal by the ambassador to Haiti - basically saying that as a result of the French leaving Haiti (the Haitians' deal with the devil), the US gained Louisiana for next to nothing as the French withdrew from the New World. Thus the 'deal with the devil' drastically increased the size of the fledgling US nation and, many generations later would provide Pat Robertson with an overly religious and under-educated audience ready to be spoon-fed his bile.

  2. Another good post on the subject from a history point of view - can't believe I missed the fact that Robertson was wrong about which Napoleon the Haitians defeated!
